We have SSG550 & unfortunately unable to login with user:netscreen. Can any one able to guide how to recover user:netscreen password without lossing exsisting configuration ?

 

 Please share the process.

are you sure there are not other admin accounts ? even read-only would be fine ?

a recent backup of the config ?

i've recent firewall config & also password in scramble form (hashed form) . is it possible to decrypt ?

further, also share password recovery proces.

I dont think there is any way to decrypt that but here is a link for the recovery steps:

The password in the config is a hash value. That's irreversable. Bad luck. Factory reset is the only option. Easiest way: login on console using the serialnumber of the device as username and password. If you still have the config: restore it to the device using a tftp server and cli save config from tftp <IP> filename merge. Then before resting set the password with set admin passwd. Save the config with save and reset the device with reset.
