SRX

Hi everyone,

I want to simulate a juniper srx on GNS3 simulator, I downloaded what seems to be an image from the juniper Oflicial web site "install-media-srx1k3k-11.4R10.4-domestic"

now I want to know how to use this image on GNS3 using virtualbox or qemu.

 someone has a tutorial, any document or even an idea ??

GNS only works with the J-series packages.  The main reason is that the J-series is software based why most of the other series do at least some of the packet processing in hardware.  Obviously the custom ASICs are not available for the GNS version.

If you need Juniper SRX emulation it is only one way to get it - use Firefly from Juniper.

It is support all fetures like srx except switching, as i know.

I am using it in GNS3 .

GNS3 does not support clustering, isn't it?

GNS does not support clustering but the Firefly product you can download from Juniper does.  You can download a free evaluation demo from the web site to use for education, lab and testing purposes.

Does it mean we cant setup Chassis cluster in GNS3 by using Firefly software? Please advise.

As of GNS 1.1 you can now load Firefly into GNS by converting the vmware files using these instructions from the GNS community.  Firefly is designed for VMware and KVM usage these instructions may overcome the format limitations.

You would then follow the Firefly cluster instructions above to setup your cluster.
