Connectivity Issue Between Endhost User and Core Switches in Evolved Campus Core Lab

    Posted 29 days ago

    Hello everyone,

I'm currently facing a puzzling connectivity problem in my lab setup, which is aimed at simulating an Evolved Campus Core environment. While I've successfully established connectivity between the core switches, I'm experiencing difficulties reaching the endhost user. Here's a breakdown of my lab configuration:

    • Core Switches: Two vMX switches running version 20.4R3.8.
    • Access Switches: Three Cisco IOSv L2 switches.
    • Endhost User: A single Alpine Linux machine.
    • Routing Protocols: I've set up eBGP sessions for the underlay (family inet unicast) and iBGP for the overlay ECC (family evpn signaling).
    • Dataplane Protocol: VXLAN is being utilized, with a single virtual network identifier (VNI) 5010 associated with VLAN 10.
    • Subnet Information: The subnet IP address is 10.1.10.0/24, with the last three addresses reserved for the core switches, including the virtual gateway address.

Despite meticulous configuration checks, including VLAN mappings, BGP peering, and VXLAN settings, I'm still unable to establish connectivity with the endhost user. To aid in troubleshooting, I've attached the configurations of all devices involved.

Your expertise and insights would be greatly appreciated in resolving this issue. Please refer to the attached configuration files for reference, and feel free to provide any suggestions or recommendations for troubleshooting.

Thank you all for your time and assistance!
