CN2

Dear Juniper Experts,

Pradeep H Krishnamurthy explained in his great post how to integrate CN2 with Apstra to manage fabrics for Kubernetes environments. My question is, we know that Apstra doesn't integrate with OpenStack natively, can we use CN2-Apstra Plug-in to integrate Apstra with OpenStack, so we can provision the fabric automatically according to OpenStack Neutron needs?

Thank you for your query.

We have a strategy to decouple the software and hardware. It's unwise for users to tie the fate of their OpenStack choice to the underlay fabric overall.

Having said that, when CN2 supports the new versions of OpenStack, we will evaluate making it work for SRIOV workloads in that environment with the same CN2 and Apstra integration. 

SRIOV attachment isn't as standard in OpenStack, so the question would be how to automate the ToR port binding into a fabric VN. But at minimum the process of extending VNs from CN2 to Apstra should still work the same as it does today.
