This is a legacy community with limited Juniper monitoring.

  • 1.  Can´t creat 4th redundant interface.

    I'm setting up a SSG 550 firewall, and I need to set up 7 redundant interfaces.
    When I'm about to create the 4th the system gives me the following error: "exceed max red interface number 4".

    Hi

     

    Yes, its a device limitation. 4 is the max number of redundant interfaces you can define for SSG500. The devices which allow you to go more than that would be the ISG1000/2000 and the NS5000 series.

    You need to make sure all of your redundent interfaces are using the same ASIC regardless of the chassis. So you may need to get a line card which has that many continous ports.

     

    Can I ask why would you need 7 redundent interfaces? there might be better ways of doing what you are trying to do.

    Hmm..still looking into that. I think we will have a KB out for the different platforms listing diff redundant specs soon.
