Fail upgrading SRX240 from 11.4R7.5 to 11.4R10.3 / HW not compatible?

Hi to all.

I would like your help with upgrading Junos at SRX.

I'm trying to upgrade my SRX240 from Junos 11.4R7.5 to 11.4R10.3

and get the following message.

----------------------------------------

root> request system software add no-copy no-validate /var/tmp/junos-srxsme-11.4R10.3-domestic.tgz

WARNING: Package junos-11.4R10.3-domestic is not compatible with this hardware.

WARNING: Please install a package with version 11.4R5 or higher.

----------------------------------------

Mu current version is the following, and I can realize that the current OS file name format is different to that one I'm trying to upgrade to.

----------------------------------------

root> show version

Model: srx240h2

JUNOS Software Release [11.4R7.5]

root> show system software backup

Backup JUNOS package information:

File name: /altroot/cf/packages/junos-11.4R7.5-domestic

File size: 140114836

----------------------------------------

The difference:

current  : junos-11.4R7.5-domestic

upgrade: junos-srxsme-11.4R10.3-domestic.tgz

The current Junos doesn't have the "srxme" at the file name.

Does it have anything to do with my upgrade process failure?

What am I supposed to do to proceed with my upgrade?

I'd be grateful for any tips.

The package(with srxsme) that you have downloaded is the right one for SRX240.

Can you verify checksum of the package before and after download?

Is it just a warning that you receive or upgrade competely fails even after a reboot?

Yes, I've verified the checksum, and there was no problem with it.

The Junos Download Page says 1 and my log says 2, there wasn't any difference.

The upgrade process fails and stop, and I did rebooted the chassis, to see if there was any change,

but didn`t have any success.

Thanks for your response!

As a workaround, can you try rolling back software and then do an upgrade?

1. request system software rollback

2. request system software add /var/tmp/junos-srxsme-11.4R10.3-domestic.tgz no-copy no-validate

I was able to recreate the problem in lab.

the script didn't worked, i got this error message
