  • 1.  unable to login to nsm ui ??

    hi,

    recently i installed nsmXpress and i upgraded from 2007.r3 to 2008.2r1 the upgrade process went fine but when i login to the web ui i see still its pointing to 2007,

    2nd thing which is important when i login to https://x,x,x,x and download the windows ui on the login screen it gives INCORRECT LOGIN PARAMETERS ?/

     is there anything additional i have to do it or there is something wrong in the upgrade process. ?

    am using the admin account, one more thing i noticed that when i click the drop down menu next to server i see it shows DEMO is it the reason ?

    Hi,

     

    could you try using 'super' as the username.

    The password that you set during installation, and please enter the IP or FQDN in the drop down box.

    can you provide me the correct steps of installing the nsm express with the nsm ui in case i missed a step during the installation .

     

    here is what i did :

    1-configure the nsm express as regional server.

    2-upgrade the nsm express to 2008.r2 

     

    note even after upgrading it still show me on the screen 2007 r3 ?

     

    any thing i`ve missed .

    Sorry - if this comes across as a "dumb" question. Did you upgrade the client piece? When you upgrade the server to 2008.r2 you must also upgrade the client. This applies regardless of where you run the client, even on the server itself. You should see nsm2008.2r1_ui_win_x86 and linux_x86 install zip files.

     

    As you keep saying you see the reference to 2007r3 I am just wondering if this step got missed.

    regarding the client i only downloaded the client from the device itself e.g https://x.x.x.x then i`ll see two link pointing to windows UI and Linux UI and i downloaded the windows ui which when it starts i see in the corner for starting screen 2008 .

     

     

    is it maybe becuase of license ? because when i opened the box i saw  two license papers and i didnt activatee them .

    No - licensing does not come into play - it only applies to how many devices you can have and manage with the box.
