Not 100% but, I believe it's the same as Active Source, "IP address or Ethernet segment identifier (ESI) of remote entity on which MAC address is learned."
Mostly used in EVPN, Brisging VLANs and ISIS. e.g.

MAC flags (S - static MAC, D - dynamic MAC, L - locally learned, P - Persistent static
SE - statistics enabled, NM - non configured MAC, R - remote PE MAC, O - ovsdb MAC)
