Is it possible to setup Point to Multipoint VPLS using just LDP . I do not want to use BGP since we have only 3 PE nodes .

BGP is used to auto discover other PE's belonging to the VPLS instance , hence if I manually specify the destination PE's ( 2 PE's in this case ) and run LDP on all interfaces including lo0 , I won't have to run BGP on the network. Is my understanding correct .??

Please correct me if I am wrong . If BGP must be used , please specify why it is required in my case

What are you trying to achieve? Using LDP as the signaling protocol?

I am trying to setup a VPLS instance between 3 PE Routers using LDP .

I want to know whether BGP is mandatory to do this since I can manually configure the neighbour PE information ,

I couldn't find a literature explaining this configuration ( Point to Multipoint VPLS Using LDP )
