Tonight, I had a situation where one of my lag members between my switches <which traverse an optical transport shelf> stayed up/up on one end and went up/down on the other.  Because of this we had traffic just being dumped on the downed port.

What are my protocol options to keep this from happening?

I was thinking BFD, but I'm wanting to see what others might think here.

    Thanks
    Chuck

    Hi Charles,

If you have LACP enabled on the lag bundles then on the failure of individual link the traffic will not be sent on the failed link.

    https://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/junos/topics/concept/layer-2-lacp-security-understanding.html

    Hope this helps.
