Hello Olivier,
thank you for your Message.
Can you give me the command(s) to increase the memory for the VM?

The MX204 comes with 32GB in its RE.
On this architecture, the RE runs a customised Linux, which starts a Virtual Machine with FreeBSD running JunOS. This VM receives 16GB of memory.
When you connect to the RE, you're inside the JunOS VM with 16GB.
If you need it, you can increase the memory size allocated to the VM to 24 GB (over 32), feature available from JunOS 21.2.

Hello,
I have a MX204 with RE-S-1600X8 and I am a bit puzzled. The RE shows in the boot process as available memory only 16GB, although 32GB are installed.
real memory = 17179869184 (16384 MB)
avail memory = 16569049088 (15801 MB)
Can someone explain this to me?
Thanks a lot!
