    Wondering how or if it is even possible to regulate IRB speed from the default of 1GB to 500Mbps.

    Hope your well. 

    If your wanting to change the speed of an IRB interface, can you please try and use the below configuration?

    set interface irb unit <X> bandwidth 500m

    I did just configure this in my lab, and this looks to have taken:
