  • 1.  EVPN Loop protection

    Hi 

     

    I am looking at an EVPN design that has the potential risk for the introduction of external links between attached CE devices.

     

    I have been looking at this rfc proposal:

    this describes pretty much the situation.

     

    does anyone know if this was progressed further into an implementation or if there is an alternative workaround?

    Since EVPN is L3 based, loops should not form, but Loop Protection is coming 20.2R2, I believe.  20.2R2 is not out yet, scheduled for mid-Nov, subject to change.

    While there is no special EVPN Loop Protection mechanisms, in our network we use EVPN MAC Pinning with interface-mac-limit.
