  • 1.  Can't ping router from SRX which is directly Connect

    Posted 10-31-2022 13:51
    I have been installing an SRX340 into a customer site but I am having trouble pinging the routers IP of 192.168.1.1/24 from my SRX which I have set an IP of 192.168.1.252/24. The router is a TP-Link router and I have added a route on the SRX to point the next hop to 192.168.1.1.

    Any suggestions?

    interfaces {
    ge-0/0/0 {
    unit 0 {
    family inet {
    address 192.168.1.252/24;

    Hi James,

    The interface configuration looks ok to me, however as you haven't posted the zone config I am unable to comment if its configured or not.
    can you try the below command and see if it helps.

    set security zones security-zone External interfaces ge-0/0/0 host-inbound-traffic system-services all

    Regards,

    Sorry I think I duplicated tickets. The issue was the management interface fxp0 had the same IP set on it (by default config) as the router we had on site so I can now ping the router from the cisco. I need to setup VLAN's and DHCP groups today so if I have any issues I will update the other post I made yesterday.
