 I'm currently involved in a project where my client need to authenticate users based on azure AD account, is there a way to point authentication directly towered Azure AD in mist AI ?

Yes, Mist supports SAML 2.0 which is supported by both traditional AD as well as Azure.

If you are looking to authenticate normal users for WIFI access, then you would set up an SSID for SSO with Identity Provider:

If you are looking to authenticate administrative users to manage Mist that is also supported:
