  • 1.  J6350 in HA with enhanced-switching help.

    Posted 06-07-2014 15:09

I am using two J6350 routers in HA cluster. I would like to use enhanced-switching with my fpc in slot 4 (8-port 1Gbps card).

Whenever I try to swith to enhanced-switching mode I get alarms and fpc becomes inaccessible.

    root@j01-pco# set groups node0 chassis fpc 4 pic 0 ethernet pic-mode enhanced-switching

    root@j01-pco# set groups node1 chassis fpc 4 pic 0 ethernet pic-mode enhanced-switching

    After commit I get:

    root@j01-pco> show system alarms
    node0:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1 alarms currently active
    Alarm time               Class  Description
    2014-06-07 22:02:44 UTC  Major  FPC 4 PIC 0 Failure

    node1:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1 alarms currently active
    Alarm time               Class  Description
    2014-06-07 22:19:27 UTC  Major  FPC 4 PIC 0 Failure

Also when I disable cluster enhanced-switching works just fine.

Am I missing something? Can I use enhanced-switching with HA cluster?

    Cheers,

    Ranko

    Hello Ranko

Switching is not supported in HA cluster scenario.

It is supported only in standalone J-Series appliances.

Bridge: do you mean J-Series devices in transparent mode?

If so, transparent mode isn't supported in J-Serires devices in a clustered environment.
