set system archival configuration transfer-on-commit
set system archival configuration archive-sites "ftp://user@x.x.x.x:21/\MX-80-PE" password 123

sometime it  generate multiple files

and some times one file ....

with same configuration.

why this is happening?

Hi,

"transfer-on-commit" knob works by transferring the currently active configuration to an archive site periodically after every commit. In the case where you see multiple files getting generated, is the commit done only once?

Upon commit the files present at /var/transfer/config/ are tried to be uploaded to the configured archive-sites. Can you check if you have multiple files under /var/transfer/config before you issue commit?
If so, can you please try to delete them and then test again?

Also if the above test does not help, please try deactivating/activating the archival configuration and see if that helps.
