  • 1.  MX104-40G-AC-BNDL capacity number of MIC

    Hi guys,

     

    I am trying to understand the following promotional bundles:

     

    MX104-40G-AC-BNDL: MX104 Promotional bundle, 40G,2x10G built-in ports, 1 service MIC slot, 1 interface MIC slot, redundant AC PS. SW licenses included :JUNOS, ADV-R2,JFLOW-5G

     

    I understand MX104 have 4 MIC slots, but description of 40G-AC-BNDL says 1 service MIC slot,

    1 interface MIC slot.

    Is that mean this BNDL can not use 4 MIC slot but only 2MIC slot?

    If it is possible , I'd like to add 4 x MIC-3D-2XGE-XFP to this chassis.

    Hi,

     

    You cannot add more than 2 x MIC-3D-2XGE-XFP to the MX104-40G bundle. For this you need the full MX104 chassis + MICs.

     

    If you don't need the redundant routing engine you should look at the MX204 instead. Way more capacity to a better price 🙂

    The MX204 can provide up to 20 x 10G ports and have 400G throughput compared to the MX104's 80G... and RE performance multiple better.

     

    Please consult your preferred reseller regarding pricing on these... but I will personally go for the MX204 🙂
