vSRX

  • 1.  Does vSRX support L2VPN and VPLS?

    Hi all,

     

    I'm currently try to setup lab using vSRX (firefly) old version 12.x based on Inetzero JNCIE-SP workbook. During the setup exactly using the config on Inetzero the mac address is not showing when i'm use command show vpls mac-table and show l2vpn connection. I'm has been check the config is same and no issue on communication between CE to PE. I'm setup in ESXi and also try to setup on GNS3 but the result still same.

     

    I'm not try yet on lataest vSRX 15.xD130 coz i'm need to sure the vSRX support VPLS and L2VPN or not.

    MPLS :      SRX                                                                           |    vSRX
     

    CCC and TCC

    Not supported
     

    Layer 2 VPNs for Ethernet connections

    Only if promiscuous mode is enabled on the hypervisor

    Hi ,

     

     

    Yes, i' have seen that doc previously. But that doc refer to L2VPN only. Not vpls. So just one to confirm if anyone here has been do some test using vSRX latest whether it supprt vpls or not.

    VPLS is not supported on vSRX as seen on the feature explorer: https://apps.juniper.net/feature-explorer/feature-info.html?fKey=3211&fn=Virtual+Private+LAN+Service+(VPLS).

     

    For lab you could go for vMX which has this feature.
