128T Session Smart™ Routers bring unique scale and performance benefits due to removal of tunnels and associated bandwidth savings. This has enabled 128T Session Smart Routers to support our customers in building some of the largest WAN deployments on the planet with thousands of sites!
To validate the capabilities of 128T Session Smart Routers in very large-scale deployments, we commissioned Tolly Group to independently evaluate scale, resilience, and operational features. Most external third-party tests evaluate one dimensional scale to publish maximum supported numbers with individual tests. We decided to forgo such tests and perform tests that mimic a large-scale real-world deployment. The tests included head-end and branch scalability, resilience in the face of numerous faults, and operational tests. Here are some highlights of the test results:
Head-end scale: 128T Session Smart Routers support thousands to millions of concurrent user sessions while maintaining connections with thousands of branch routers simultaneously.
Branch scale: 128T Session Smart Routers can easily support thousands of concurrent end user sessions on low-end, small form factor, and low-cost whitebox platforms.
Resiliency: 128T Session Smart Routers enable rapid recovery and operational continuity without dropped sessions in high availability (HA) configuration for a wide range of node and network failure conditions. 128T Session Smart Routers migrate sessions to alternate links when path conditions degrade to meet service level agreements (SLAs) of mission critical applications.
Operations: The 128T Conductor can be used to provision and manage all 128T Session Smart Routers in a network. This enables seamless upgrade/rollback/backup/restore, intuitive GUI, and multi-instance command line implementation (CLI).
128T Session Smart Routers exceeded the expectations of the tests with regards to scale and performance.
