Currently reviewing this documentation:

Because working on a QFX installation, i'm pretty disappointed.

As I imagine a lot of people in this ingenious forum uses Junos for a while, what is your feedback on this new CLI?

What bothers me a lot is the fact that you cannot disable it or choose it, if you take a junos version with ELS, just deal with it and find your ethernet-switching-options splitted in now 5/6 sub menus?

What do you think?

After your post, I did a little investigating. Here is a presentation provided by a technical marketing manager that explains why ELS was started and  all the changes made, thus far.  According to Salman, ELS preserves EX and MX feature richness, consistent functionality (One Junos), and has enhancements as compared to the old CLI and performance improvements.

I am out of my technical area of expertise but wanted to make sure you were given information to address your concerns. I hope it helps.
