Hi there
We're looking at rolling out L2 policing over our MX l2circuit estate, and I wasn't sure about the resource (CPU/Memory/TCAM etc.) usage of this, particularly as we have thousands of l2circuits across the network. We run MX 240/204s. Below is a config snippet of the l2circuit policer.
set interfaces ae0 unit 100 encapsulation vlan-ccc
set interfaces ae0 unit 100 vlan-id 100
set interfaces ae0 unit 100 input-vlan-map pop
set interfaces ae0 unit 100 output-vlan-map push
set interfaces ae0 unit 100 layer2-policer input-policer L2700m
set interfaces ae0 unit 100 policer-overhead ingress -4
set firewall policer input-policer L2700m logical-interface-policer
set firewall policer input-policer L2700m if-exceeding bandwidth-limit 700m
set firewall policer input-policer L2700m if-exceeding burst-size-limit 72k
set firewall policer input-policer L2700m then discard
Is it possible someone could please answer/point me in the right direction as to how I could calculate/estimate how much impact this would have?
Thanks in advance!
