Question

After installing a Junos Space Virtual Appliance, why do I get a “Login Incorrect” error when I try to log in to the Virtual Appliance from the console?

Answer

This could occur because of a slow VMware connection, which can occur when you connect over a VPN or a slow wireless connection. To address this problem you can try increasing the “type delay” for slow connections to virtual machine consoles by changing the keyboard.typematicMinDelay setting in the the *.VMX file for the virtual machine. You can edit the *.VMX files directly, but we recommend that you configure this value for a virtual machine template by using the vSphere Client.

For additional information on the keyboard.typematicMinDelay setting, access the VMware Knowledge Base article 196 at https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/microsite.do.
