Can you confirm the 10 gig port license is installed on the mx104
show system license
And naturally that the optics in the mx104 match the mode and frequency of the partner on the link and there are no alarms or warnings in the optic diagnostics.

Subject: MX104 Builtin 10G ports getting signal but not coming up
Hi
We've had around 50 MX104 in our network for about six years and we've had 4 of them on which all buitlin 10G ports have stopped working, starting 2 years ago and on. They have been removed from the network and I have been trying to get them working without success (running install media via USB). When I add the 10G licens the 10G ports show up in the CLI and when I connect them to something else there is incoming signal but the ports just don't come up. Anyone had a similar problem? Is it a hardware failure with no point trying to fix?
Our Juniper support on these expired long time ago so I can't raise a ticket on the problem unfortunately.
Please see diagnostics commands below. There is no configuration in the box at all. Version 17.3R3-S2.2
