James Kelly, here. I'm a product lead with Juniper's cloud and data center business, and have held technical and business roles at the company for 15 years.

My team and I are excited you're here and grateful for your time and trust to learn about this new cloud-native edition of Contrail Networking, dubbed CN2.

Whether you're looking for answers about the product direction, use cases, or technology, you're in the right place. This community forum is the perfect place for questions about the CN2 free trial too. Yes, with the advent of the CN2 product that architecturally revamped Contrail Networking, a robust and high-performance SDN and security solution for nearly a decade, we decided to provide open access to freely try CN2 for use outside of commercial or production deployments of Kubernetes clusters up to 10 nodes.

If you haven't heard much about CN2 itself, know this: it has been in development for about 2 years and launched in May 2022 as the biggest ever revamp of the product, hence the new name and acronym, CN2. Check out our launch blog for more about what's changed and what's great and remains so.

In short, we've set out to build the best SDN for Kubernetes, and made CN2 itself Kubernetes-native. CN2 is much more than a Kubernetes CNI, and it does a lot more than the usual SDN, serving Kubernetes, OpenShift and OpenStack with a wide variety of networking and security features. And now they're modular (read optionally installed) too, so it's all very accessible to get started with. In fact, stay tuned for my next post about how to get started with CN2 and minikube on your laptop. What could be simpler?

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll join our community.
