    Hello all,

    I just upgraded two MX204 from 20.4R3.8 to 21.4R3-S2.3 (with a step 21.2R3-S4.8).

First, I was not able anymore to create a system recovery snapshot :

    admin> request system snapshot recovery
OAM volume is too small: doing minimal recovery snapshot
    Creating image ...
    Compressing image ...
    Image size is 876MB
ERROR: The OAM volume is too small to store a snapshot

    I read this KB article : KB33892
It didn't help, I did not find any old package to remove.

Issue is impacting both upgraded MX204, and appeared between 21.2 and 21.4 upgrade (request recovery snapshot worked well in 21.2R3).

Saw this as well : PR1639991.

Bug should be resolved in 21.4, I tried to apply workaround by working with mount/unmount oam without success.

Then I tried request system recover oam-volume, which failed :

    admin> request system recover oam-volume
NOTICE: Recovering the OAM volume ...
gpart: autofill: No space left on device
newfs: /dev/gpt/oam: could not find special device
mount: /dev/gpt/oam: No such file or directory
umount: /oam: not a file system root directory
    vtbd0p2 deleted
    Verified oam-ve signed by PackageProductionECP256_2022 method ECDSA256+SHA256
NOTICE: Creating a recovery snapshot on the OAM volume ...
OAM volume is too small: doing minimal recovery snapshot
    Creating image ...
    Compressing image ...
    Image size is 876MB
mount: /dev/gpt/oam: No such file or directory
    ERROR: Cannot mount OAM volume
ERROR: oam recovery error: snapshot creation failure

And now I can't even mount or unmount oam :

    root@:/var/home/xxx # mount /dev/gpt/oam /oam

mount: /dev/gpt/oam: No such file or directory

Then, when I read this article below, I wonder if oam partition should be available anyway, cause MX204 is NG-RE :

But then, why was I able to request system snapshot recover before upgrading to 21.4 ?

Is anybody have some clues about this ?
