IRB interface in different subnet than host

    Hello,

I have a situation where there is an VM on server that is connected to leaf switch (L2 gateway) in a data center (EVPN/VXLAN)  in vlan X, this VLAN/VNI is extended to L3 DCGW through irb interface with same unit vlan so both irb and application are on the same vlan, however, the VM is in different subnet than the irb vip address so my question is: would it be able to forward external traffic to outside subnet through the gateway (irb interface) if we put default static route on the VM towards the irb subnet?

    Thanks.
