  • 1.  How to automatically update security (IPS, AV etc) license on SRX

I have in the region of 30 SRX devices, and every year I have to manually connect to each one to update the security license keys. I usually do this via J-Web (I simply press the 'Update' button under License Management). Is there any way to automate this update process? I realise Security Director may offer this functionality, but it is not an option right now.

    Hello,

You can try the config below:

set system license autoupdate url https://ae1.juniper.net/junos/key_retrieval
set system license renew before-expiration 30
set system license renew interval 24

    Regards,

    Hi Brijil,

Thank you for getting back to me, it is much appreciated.

I already had the autoupdate url in my config, so have added the renew parameters, and will now leave for a day or two to test.

    Many thanks.

The feature is only on vSRX running 21.4 or later

Ah, I see, thank you for the heads-up Steve. It's a shame that it's taken so long to be introduced and then only to vSRX.
