  • 1.  Cisco ASR XVR to Juniper vMX - ISIS Adjacency

    Posted 08-26-2022 15:46
    Hey guys,

I'm hoping to get some help here.   I've trying to lab up an IS-IS adjacency between a Juniper vMX and a Cisco ASR xVR.   I have the  connection configured between the two as level 2 only.  From everything I can see, it looks like they should be working.

This is what I'm seeing in the Juniper ISIS-Debug:

Anyone have some suggestions I might be able to try?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Please share the ISIS configuration from both routers. Also,  "show isis interface detail"; "show isis adjacency detail" from vMX and "show clns interface" from Cisco router will be helpful.

    Regards

seams is an issue related to hello padding, could you pls:

1- share your config from both devices
2- share the "show interface ae220 extensive" from the MX and show interface be222 from the ASR9K

if im correct, basically you could exclude the hello-padding from the interface

    regards

You were absolutely right.  As soon as I disabled the Hello padding the interface came right up.

Thank you SO much for pointing me in the right direction! :)

On Cisco it's "hello-padding" disable under the ISIS Interface configuration.

    Thank you again!
