  • 1.  Question about SCBE3-MX

    Posted 08-21-2020 21:26

    Hi

    I was reading about SCBE3-MX and MPC10E

I wonder If I installed 3xSCBE3 and multiple MPC10E with 100GE connections, will I have Line rate capacity on MPC with 2+1 Redundancy on SCBE?

    Thank you

Hi, you can find all information here

    For mx960:

    2+1 - 1 Tbps

    3+0 - 1.5 Tbps

    mx240/mx480

    1+1 - 1 Tbps

    2+0 - 1.5Tbps

    Hi
Thank you for the answer, so if I install MPC10E which has 10x100GE then I will have fabric redundancy.
But If I install MPC15E there will be no redundancy in Fabric.
In both case We will have linecrate at all ports.
    Is this assumption correct?

    Hi,

Redundancy in Fabric depends on mode at which SCBE3-MX cards are operating at , there are 2 modes [increased-bandwidth | redundant] and this is configurable

    https://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/junos/topics/reference/configuration-statement/redundancy-mode-redundant.html

     - MX960 can have up to 3 SCB cards, in redundant mode 2 fabric cards are active and 1 card is standby , while in non-redundant mode / increased-bandwidth all 3 SCB cards are active.

    - when all 3 SCB cards are active you get 1.5 Tbps fabric capacity per slot and when only 2 cards are active you get 1Tbps fabric capacity per slot and this is the default mode for SCB3-MX
