  • 1.  EX4200-48PX can not start POE

I got the problem with POE, all ports stopped feeding power to devices and got alarms in chassis.
    root> show chassis alarms

Other ports which connected to non-poe devices are working ok.

Is that the PEM problem? Thank you.

The lack of PoE is likely due to the absence of any power supplies:

FPC 0 Power Supply 0 Absent
FPC 0 Power Supply 1 Absent

Since the switch is obviously powered, I'd guess you have a hardware failure or have encountered a software bug. If the issue is otherwise impacting and you can risk the switch not coming powering back up, you may try a reboot (with cold power cycle) to see if it clears up. 15.1 is a particularly bad software release on the 4200, so you may want to update to the latest service release 15.1R7-S9 as part of the reboot to make sure you aren't hitting any known bugs.

My switch only have 1 PSU which is 930W.
I already tried downgrade Junos to 12.3, the problem still persist. For the 15 release , I think 15.1R7.9 is latest.
The problem may be the FPC can not know how much power PSU can supply so that it stop all POE port.
FPC 0 PEM 1 is not supported

When I request reboot, I notice that at first all poe devices are power up then shutdown.
I am waiting for new PSU to check.

    Thank you.

I did change the PSU and POE start working again.

I also notice the failure PSU always maximum speed and very noisy.

Did one of the power supplies fail?
Note this message in the output.

FPC 0 Power Supply 1 Absent
