Which Juniper routers are most commonly used at the core and distributed edge? I don't want to replace my infrastructure for another 10 years. There is high demand from our residential members and our anchor members, such as school districts and healthcare providers.

MX204's offer great scale especially when coupled with QFX5120's and is the direction we've stepped in. For core depending on what size you're servicing you may want something larger, but for a distributed core the MX204 I think fits this bill nicely.

We are just deploying our first MX204 and have a few MX480's and older MX80/5 platforms installed in the core. The MX480s have served us well over the years, but adding new line cards to that platform is prohibitively expensive. Not sure what direction we are going to go in the long run.
