  • 1.  what is mean by Reth interface

    Hi ,

    I am newbie to juniper srx.please clarify what is the Reth Interface.it is directly connected to any port (like any switch port) and what is the use of it?

    Please clarify my doubts

    Reth is short for Redundant Ethernet interface. These are used on clusters of two SRX devices as part of the failover mechanism.

    With Redundant ethernet a pair of ports back each other up.  Only one of the two ports is active at a time and one port is on each member of the cluster.

    Groups are created with the Reth interfaces in them that failover as a group between the cluster members when a failover event occurs.  This keeps systems communications working during the failure event.
