Switching

I tried finding the doc that used to show the upgrade paths for switches and all I found was a doc  that tells me I can go up 2 releases at a time, but is that major release or a service release? 

My switches are at 21.4R3-S4.18 and 21.4R3-S3.4. The current suggested is now 23.4R2-Sx for our 2300s and 4300s.  Can I go directly from 21.4 to 23.4 since that is just two major releases? 

Theoretically  you must do 21.4 -> 22.4 -> 23.4
