As you already alluded in your question, for a period of time Juniper sold the SRX firewalls both as a bundle of hardware and software, or as separate parts (chassis and software). The -SYS-JB- and -SYS-JE- part numbers indicate that it's a bundle of hardware and software, while the simpler -AC part number is just the chassis which technically requires you to get software separately (-JSB and -JSE part numbers). I think these days only -SYS-JB and -SYS-JE part numbers are available from Junip...ummm... HPE, but not completely sure.
It should be the exact same hardware though.
