UPDATE: Solved - figured out that the PICs didn't come online until I connected at least a single interface.
The management interface part is also solved, just add the following environment variable:
CLAB_MGMT_PASSTHROUGH: "true"
Hi,
I've been trying to build a lab for vjunos-switch and Apstra with containerlab (version 0.72.0).
Containerlab builds a linux bridge where the management interfaces are connected together. I've got no problem getting the switches up and running. But as soon as I try to get them correctly enrolled in Apstra, this is where my problems start.
Apstra does not like the fact that the management interface on the switches has a 10.0.0.0/8 address, not the actual mgmt address that containerlab assigns (i.e the containerlab management address is 192.168.122.5, but the fxp0 of 10.0.0.15/24. When I try to install the full agent from Apstra onto the switch it never finishes correctly. I tried to set a secondary address on fxp0 as 192.168.122.5/24, but then I loose connectivity with the switch.
Has anyone successfully gotten Apstra + vjunos-switch working together on a fairly recent version of containerlab? I've seen the guide from the Juniper blog - but that was written in late 2023, and the example topology from that guide does not seem to work correctly. I've tried to configure a bridge, assign a ip address to that bridge for the host, but I always end up in the same situation.
If anyone here has managed to get this working on a recent version of containerlab I would be very grateful for any hints.
Bgrds,
Finnur
