We're working with JTAC on a FPC popping error messages. JTAC wants us remove / re-insert the FPC.
I confirmed with JTAC that taking the FPC offline; wait 60s , then request chassis fpc 3 restart, will satisfy the need.
Is there any thought / experience if "disabling L2 and L3 traffic interfaces 1st" before taking the FPC offline and restart would lesson packet loss ?
Some of the interfaces on the FPC are secondary uplinks to TOR switches, others are LACP children of L3 aggregates, so in this case the actual aeX would not be flapping.
any feedback is always appreciated,
Michael B
