    Hello Guys! i am trying to change the password on the Juniper VSRX ,  but unfortunately it is not working . and i get the error message below

    admin@am-vSRX# commit confirmed 7
    error: minimum-reuse configured, use plain-text-password to configure password
    /var/run/db/private/juniper-98906.patch:2:(118) invalid value: $6$r1jnWb6s$IK.RxVyqtHQiTkhDfoSs9KuS1arwWk23pFw5Cvi4A8MZT7R.AVLfM/r9Rt457mIEBiHnnj3z0rls1FCxfu063/
      [edit system login user admin authentication encrypted-password]

          invalid value

    I have change the reuse password value from 8 to 20 didnt help! same error 

    i have tried different kind of password still did not help, same error

    i have changed the root password first and then admin password on the plaintext and it did not help : same error message 

    What could be the problem and how can i fix it Thanks !

    If your deploy is just for lab then u can wipe i and redeploy new.

    Hi, did you already try to (temporary) commit a "delete system login password minimum-reuse", and then re-try to commit your encrypted-password statements?

    I believe encrypted passwords can't be checked against a password reuse policy, hence changes to login user authentication values can only be done using plain-text-password -- and any other method only without a minimum-reuse policy set.

    Hello, i tried and and i cannot commit  after deleting "delete system login password minimum-reuse" and even even changing the password reuse value did not help as well ,
