Can anyone confirm that any model of SRX can use tenth values for MSTP, or just Spanning tree in general?

    What are they?

    Hello times?

    Max age?

    Max hops?

    Etc?

According to Feature Explorer, MSTP is only supported in the SRX300-series, SRX550, SRX1500 and SRX1600. That means that SRX2300/4300/4700 from the new SRX line don't do MSTP at all.

Do you want to use decimal values for the timers? I have no idea if this is supported at all in the MSTP standard, but I find it unlikely. They are probably integers and can probably not be represented in the BPDUs as decimal values.

    SRX300 running 23.4R2-S3:

    root# set protocols mstp hello-time ?
    Possible completions:
<hello-time>         Time interval between configuration BPDUs (1..10 seconds)
    [edit]
    root# set protocols mstp hello-time 2.2
                                        ^
Invalid trailing data '.2' for numeric value: '2.2' at '2.2'

    [edit]
    root# set protocols mstp max-age ?
    Possible completions:
<max-age>            Maximum age of received protocol bpdu (6..40 seconds)
    [edit]
    root# set protocols mstp max-age 7.7
                                     ^
Invalid trailing data '.7' for numeric value: '7.7' at '7.7'

How would you even describe the number of hops as a decimal value??? 4.5 hops, what is that, only half way through the fifth switch? Perhaps I'm reading the question wrong, please enlighten me :)

I really should not have included max hops in this, but i did because i wanted to give an idea of the set of statements that are included in the process of getting mstp to work. There is one more, and it is forward delay. I am trying to recall if I had seen this for srx series or another brand. Tenths for values. So correct me if im wrong that junos can do this.........

Actually if you have a look at the feature explorer, none of the SRX2300/4300/4700 would even do RSTP at all.

Actually, the features finder pretends they don't even support ethernet switching...
