  • 1.  MIST WiFi: DHCP getting requests but not leasing the IP to the AP

    Posted 10-03-2024 10:10

I have two fabrics managed by Mist. Server connects to DC fabric and AP connects to the campus fabric.

After running tcpdump (see the screenshot below) on the server, I see the client & server both communicating over UDP port 67.

I read somewhere that "if another application is using port 67: If another application is using port 67, DHCP will not work"

How do I override this on the client end? Do I need to amend this

What error messages are you seeing in Mist around DHCP? I'm guessing you also have a DHCP relay configured somewhere? Is the DHCP server configured to ping the IP before it issues a lease? Usually you would see the client using an ephemeral port, but unless you configured the client or something in between weird something seems strange about the server's repsonse.
