  • 1.  Migrating vSRX from evaluation license to prod

    Hi,

     

    We are running two vSRX with the 60-day trial/evaluation. We now need to install the standard throughput licenses on each of these. I want to know :

    - the steps for doing it

    - also the software serial number on the two vSRXs looks same [Software Serial Number: 20xxxxxx]. Why is this so and will this cause any issue?

     

    Any help or guidance will be much appreciated.

    Dear Bluedash.

     

    Please see documentation for vSRX license management:

    You will purchase the licenses, activate them on Agile licensing portal (https://license.juniper.net/licensemanage/ ) and install licenses on vSRX machine (CLI, J-Web, or if vSRX has connectivity to Internet  - vSRX can auto-download licenses from license server).

    This is expected behavior in my humble opinion because the VMs were created from same VM template image. I expect no further issues.

     

    Your vSRX instance will stop to forward traffic (flowd process stops to work) after trial period will expire however connection to box will still work via fxp0 interface. The trial period is decreasing only when the VM is running.
