  • 1.  LOOP DETECTION mechanism in junos

    Posted 13 days ago

Does Junos have a loopback detection mechanism like other vendors' LBD (Loopback Detection) protocols?

In a linear topology, suppose I connect a Junos switch to an unmanaged switch using a trunk port. If a loop forms on the unmanaged switch, how can the Junos switch detect this and shut down the port to protect the upstream network?

Essentially, I want the Junos switch to automatically shut down the port if a loop is detected on the downstream (unmanaged) switch.

I'm not familiar with LBD but it sounds similar to storm control in Junos.
