L2 gateway VXLAN and FCS in L2 frame

    Hi everyone,

    Let say we have two leaf L1 and L2 acting as L2 gateway and are connected as show below

    Graphically:

    H1 ( 10.10.10.1)---------ge-0/0/1 -LEAF1 (1.1.1.1)------VXLAN--------1.1.1..2 -LEAF2-ge-0/0/1------------------10.10.10.2 (H2)

    Let say H1 pings H2,

    H1 creates  ICMP IP packet and attaches L2 ethernet frame with FCS.

    LEAF1 receives this frame, performs switch table look up and VXLAN encapsulates the frame received from Leaf1.

    Will  leaf1 strip FCS from the frame received from H1 before encapsulating in  VXLAN ? 

    Or the whole frame  along with FCS from H1 , is encapsulated inside VXLAN by leaf1?
