I put the IP for both of our SRXes in the first and last IP fields. When I hit "save", it sent me to the login for OpenNMS. I don't have the credentials for that.

Rebooting the Space server after disabling and then again after enabling seems to have worked. I have put the correct string in the " Configure SNMP by IP " screen. It now wants me to fill in " First IP address". Is that the address it is going to query for, so it would be the IP of the SRX?

That got OpenNMS running but my SecDir credentials do not work to login to it. I'll try a reboot of the Space server. I did not do that after stopping the service.

Hi John,
looks like complete Network Monitoring module is not working.
you can try to restart the service by referring: https://supportportal.juniper.net/s/article/How-to-disable-OpenNMS-on-Junos-Space
else open a JTAC case.

I think you are not checking the correct page, do not go inside Admin, you need to click on Admin.
Select Network Monitoring > Admin > Configure SNMP Community Names by IP

Well, as with many Juniper docs, the location or names of menus has changed. The only choice under Network Monitoring->Admin is "SMNPv3 Trap Configuration" and so there are no settings for Community String to change.

If you are getting Incorrect SNMP community error then follow: https://www.juniper.net/documentation/us/en/software/junos-space22.3/junos-space-workspaces/topics/task/platform-netmon-admin-snmp-names-updating.html
After changing the user password, the device should go DOWN if you are managing the device using that user but sometime, session will be there so you can see the device still UP BUT if it might go DOWN after service restart.
To change the password in Space follow: https://www.juniper.net/documentation/us/en/software/junos-space21.1/junos-space-workspaces/topics/task/password-to-key-authentication-changing.html
Hope this helps.

( Ignore the typo in the title. It's clearly Junos Space )
I see on our SRX that the Space server is trying to connect with the wrong info. I suspect the community string is not correct. I can't find out in Security Director or in the Network Management Platform where that is. Or, do I have to dig into the UNIX command line stuff?
We also changed the root user password recently, and I think Space has that stored somewhere too for back-end communication.
