  • 1.  Is there an API for recommended Junos versions? If not, we need one

    Posted 08-12-2025 17:58

    Hey everyone,

Quick question - does anyone know if there's an API to get the recommended Junos versions?
    The ones from: https://supportportal.juniper.net/s/article/Junos-Software-Versions-Suggested-Releases-to-Consider-and-Evaluate

I've searched everywhere and can't find one. Manual checking in 2025 feels wrong when we're automating everything else.

I know Mist has some version info, but that's limited to their supported devices and needs a Mist account.
We need this for all Junos platforms.

Has anyone found a workaround? Or better yet, does this exist and I'm just missing it?

If it doesn't exist and you'd use it, drop a comment. Maybe we can get Juniper to build this.

    Cheers

I've been looking for this for many years. As Juniper became more vague about recommending (going from "Recommended software" to "Software versions to consider and evaluate"), I fear that they will not be bold enough to recommend a version. Probably a liability thing.

Thank you for bringing this up in the community. I really hope we do get access to some API endpoint.
