  • 1.  IRB or PWHE on MX without physical interface

    Hi,

    I need to have an IP address on my MX which should reply to various request. There is no access interface on it, only core facing interfaces.

    I have tried with PWHE and EVPN, but there is always an error about encapsulation. I tried all of them, but no help.

    IRB is always down because there is no physical interface in the BD. I could maybe create a sub-interface out of the core interface, but I would like to avoid that.

    PWHE is probably the best solution but I can't make it work. It is working with XC, but I need E-LAN because the DSLAMs are connected to multiple PEs.

    Any idea how I can make it work?

    I got it to work with VPLS and IRB. The issue is that TWAMP is not working with an IRB interface.
