I tried to post a message to the SRX community but there is no notification and my post doesn't show up. Is the website in maintenance?

    Hi Klui,

I wasn't aware of any issues yesterday, and could access this without any issues.

I can see that you've raised the question which is good news (Copying below so people can see the question).

FYI, I sent this to an ambassador here through private mail who kindly asked I not post multiples with some more details. Maybe you could forward to those who manage this site?

In the past I didn't see any notification that it was under moderation and noticed my posts were visible right after submission.

The strange thing is when I submitted a shorter post earlier this morning, it was accepted and I can see it, but when I edited the body to include more details the post disappeared. The same happened when I replied to my shorter submission--short replies were accepted, but when I edited them to include more details, they dropped off the thread. Very strange. I was using the {} code option to paste my configuration. At the end I just selected all my test and when I pasted that into the editor the submission was accepted.

    Hi @klui,

I am the Community Manager for the Elevate Community.   Just to let you know there are multiple safeguards in place to prevent spam.  From time to time some of the safeguards place a post in moderation that  is acceptable.  If you edit a post that was once moderated it will put the post back into moderation.  This could be one explanation why you didn't immediately see the post, and why it "disappeared" after you edited the post.

When you say "dropped off the thread" does that mean in the email send via subscription, or when you are on the site?  Screen shots and/or video of what you are doing could be helpful as well.  You can post them as a reply or sent them to elevate-community@juniper.net

Hope this helps clarify some of your questions!

Thanks for your reply and explanation. The disappearance of a post is worrisome especially if there is no notification or indicator that it is placed under moderation. I was on the site. I didn't take the time to create a video.

    Here's what I experienced:

    1. Posted a shorter topic with no code {}, saw the post
    2. Edited the topic with a URL to pastebin because I thought {}s were problematic and then it disappeared after saving
    3. Posted a shorter topic, saw the post
    4. Replied to the topic, saw the original and reply
    5. Edited the reply with pastebin link, after saving I only saw the opening post, the reply disappeared

I hope your team considers creating such a notice for posts that are affected. It will be less confusing for the uninitiated.

    Other improvement ideas:

    1. There is no badge upon login that indicates there are new entries in my Inbox. The Inbox is hidden under My Elevate. It would make sense a badge (like a dot) be next to the My Elevate menu. Then when clicking on the My Elevate menu, have another badge with the number of new items next to My Inbox.
    2. Same thing for drafts. I had to perform a web search on where drafts are saved.

    Thanks,

    Ken

Let me reach out to the vendor to see if others have encountered what you are seeing and/or if I can recreate what happened in a sandbox.

    Thanks for your patience!
