How do you permanently disable the "Update Preference > Check for updates automatically on every login." option checkbox on the Maintain > Update J-Web page in Junos for EX series switches?
It's a major pain in the butt that you disable it by unchecking the checkbox only to have to re-enable itself on your next login or if the switch is rebooted, meaning when you try to do anything in J-web even load say the interfaces list it essentially hangs until the update check times out. Our switches deliberately do not have access to the outside world so they can NEVER be able to check for updates so having this stupid option coming back to life all the time is beyond frustrating.
Oh and before the purists jump on their soapbox saying we should not use J-Web, that is fine for those of us who are fluent in CLI but for other casual users for whom a GUI is more practical, this option should be such a recurring headache.
I hoped running a "delete system phone-home" from CLI would kill it but nope. Any tips are most welcome. Thanks.
