Junos: 20.2R3-S1.3 flex
Some of the interfaces are configured to be 25g interfaces and some not
set chassis fpc 0 pic 0 port 20 speed 25g
set chassis fpc 0 pic 0 port 24 speed 25g
set chassis fpc 1 pic 0 port 20 speed 25g
set chassis fpc 1 pic 0 port 24 speed 25g
Last week we've inserted sfp28 transceivers into 10g interfaces that are not configured to be 25g interfaces, and suddenly, a network outage, that could not be explained.
Servers went down and up again
Some MAC addresses was being learned and some not
Slowness in the network, and more
We tried at first to configure those interfaces to be 25g as follows:
set chassis fpc 0 pic 0 port 28 speed 25g
set chassis fpc 0 pic 0 port 32 speed 25g
set chassis fpc 1 pic 0 port 28 speed 25g
set chassis fpc 1 pic 0 port 32 speed 25g
But it did not help
We sow no error messages in show var log messages
The only solution was to reboot the all the virtual chassis
TAC support is refusing to help because version 20 is not supported anymore
We searched the prsearch and found nothing
We will be more than glad to upgrade but only to be sure that this is a known issue and we're upgrading to a software that fixed this issue
Anyone has came across this?
