  • 1.  EX4400 upgrading to 23.4R2-S6.6 issues?

    Has anyone tried upgrading their EX4400 to 23.4R2-S6.6 with 25G SFP uplinks?  We did not upgrade to the 23.4R2-S5.x as the KB came out stating not to upgrade indicating there was an issue with that version and the 25G SFPs/uplinks may not come up.  

    Just wondering if any one had tried upgrading to this version with 25G SFP/uplinks and if it all went well or not.

    I was advised by my superior that a handful of EX4400s were upgraded to 23.4R2-S6.6 and running good so far.

    I can confirm the 25G optics bug was resolved in 23.4R2-S6 (with my own testing). Something you should know is 23.4R2-S6.6 has been recalled for the EX4400. It is not recommended to use this version and should wait for the revised release (no ETA on the release date). From the release notes for 23.4R2-S6

    Note 2: EX4400 images have been recalled for the following issue.

    • 1827595 - Broadcom SDK update to resolve issue with interface ports not working

    Please discard EX4400 images that you have downloaded and wait for the new software image. The new image will be available in the 2nd half of November 2025.

    Mark,

    Thanks for that information, we upgraded on Sunday and have not seen any issues yet.  I was unaware of the recall.  We will discuss and possibly revert back and wait for the next version.

    Just throwing my opinion out there. If you are not having any issues, I wouldn't bother rolling it back. However, when the new version comes out, I would definitely recommend installing that version once available.
